South Tyneside maternity services will be changing; as of late summer 2019, becoming a free-standing midwifery-led birthing centre open 24/7. Antenatal and postnatal appointments will still take place locally. Obstetricians and other health care professionals will visit the midwifery-led birthing centre during clinic hours.

Car Parking: The car parks at South Tyneside District Hospital When parking on site please ensure you park in a public/visitor car park (not staff) and pay for the appropriate amount of time you will be on site. Clear signage is installed throughout the car parks and entrances.
